Federal Government Probes Second Niger Bridge Amidst 140 Billion Naira Scam Allegation

Thursday 27 August 2015

The Federal Government has commenced probe into contract cost and conditions surrounding the second Niger Bridge.

The Director General of the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC), Aminu Diko, who disclosed this in Abuja after making presentations to President Muhammadu Buhari said, the Ministry of Works has been given the go ahead to review the contract cost of the project.

The Commission, Diko said has also identified some errors in the project. He said although the Commission has been discussing the transaction with the ministry of works, certificate of compliance must however be given by the commission before it can be finalized.

It will be recalled that Edo State governor, Adams Oshiomhole had accused the Goodluck Jonathan-led administration of spending over 140 billion Naira on consultancy alone in the construction of the bridge.
